Graham Barber tells me that at the time he married, William was living at 21 Bicton Street, Banstaple, Devon, England. His wife Winifred Hilton was in fact his 1st cousin. William Robert Knibbs was the oldest brother of Winifred Hiltons mother Caroline Harris (aka Caroline Knibbs).

In 1946 William was employed by Gibbs soap and Toothpaste company as an Accounts clerk.
