Fred had two sisters. He and his wife Irene retired to Cornwall in about 1982.

Fred's working career was with Morris Motors Ltd, Cowley, Oxfordshire, England which in those days was the major car manfucaturers in the UK. He finished his career there as the Chief Planning Manager and one of his responsibilities was to for oversee the building of the bridge over the main road linking one part of the premises to another. Sadly the site has now been raised to the ground, and the area is now a business park.

Fred was then transferred to Longbridge and they moved from Oxford to Knowle and then to Cornwall.

In his younger days Fred did lots of bicycle speed racing and won lots of medals. He was also a Ballroom Dancer and he met Irene through his dancing a a time when he was taking his medals for Modern Ballroom and she Old Time.
