Thomas F. Knight, 76, formerly of Unionville, husband of Eleanor Knight, died peacefully Sunday, (March 10, 2002) at the Sterling House in Deland, FL, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lowell, MA, December 13, 1925, son of the late Thomas F. and Isabelle (Dunlavey) Knight. Prior to retiring, Tom was the owner and operator of Knight Building Supply in Plainville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. ana

Emily L. (Knibbs) Knight

KNIGHT, Emily L. (Knibbs) Knight, 75, of Unionville, went home to her Lord on Sunday, (January 2, 2005) surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hartford, February 1, 1929, daughter of the late Leon W. and Edna (Gleason) Knibbs, Emily resided in Unionville until 1984 when she retired to Florida with her late husband Thomas F. Knight. Prior to retiring, Emily was employed by Paneloc Corp., but will always be remembered for being a loving homemaker and devoted mother, the job she loved the most. Get out of the way if a NASCAR race was on, as Emily was one of its most devoted fans, especially if Bill Elliott was racing. She also enjoyed Orlando Magic Basketball and Tennis. Throughout her entire life, Emily was a gentle, nurturing, caring woman. She was a true lady. She is survived by her daughter Linda K. Smith of Unionville; her sons, Thomas F. Knight III and Lois Sayward of Jacksonville, FL, William M. Knight and his wife Joanne of Unionville, and Barry E. Knight and Jill Jarrett of Farmington. She also leaves nine adored grandchildren, Amy and husband John, Billy, Michael and wife Katie, Heater, Geoffrey, Bobby, Allison, Krista, Jessica and five beloved great grandchildren, Haillie, Eamon, Gracie, Thomas and Quinlan and several nieces and nephews and devoted friends. She was predeceased by her dear sister Carolyn Byrne. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and deepest appreciation to the wonderful Doctors and Nurses in the ICU at the UCONN Health Center. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Rt. 4, Unionville on Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral procession from the Ahern Funeral Home will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary Star of the Sea, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Development Fund at UCONN Health Center, 263 Farmington Avenue, Farmington, 06030 for the benefit of the Intensive Care Unit.
