In December 1872 in Wolstanton District, Staffordshire, England, 10 months before she and Alfred Wakefield were married, they both acted as witnesses to the marriage of Fanny's niece, Emily Neal, to James Dues/Dewis. Emily was born in July 1854, the daughter of Fanny's brother George Neal.
