July and September, 1884 in Banbury District, Oxfordshire, England.

Despite the statement above saying that George Painting married Lucy Annis, I am confident that they did not marry. Lucy and George did however have an illegitimate daughter, Annie Painting Knibbs in 1872, two and a half years after her husband Benjamin Knibbs died.
Lucy's first husband, Benjamin Knibbs, died in October 1869, aged just 27 years. It appears from the records that Lucy had a brief relationship with George Painting, and then in 1873, she remarried to an Edward Walker.

The record of George's burial in the Parish Register of Wigginton shows that George was the publican of the White Swan public house. He was aged 56 when he died.

The 1871 census for Oxfordshire and North Berkshire shows Lucy as living at Blue Row, Swerford with her husband Benjamin's cousin William Knibbs and his wife Emily. Lucy's son Frederic is living with her. Her husband Benjamin had died in 1869.

The 1881 census shows Lucy as living at Wigginton, Oxfordshire with her third husband Edward Walden, and 5 of her 7 children. They are listed under Cottage, Wigginton, with the surname of Walker. I am fairly confident that Walker is a transcription error for the census. All marriage, baptism and burial records are given as Walden.
