Jeremiah KNIBBS\Susannah PITT

Jeremiah KNIBBS, son of William KNIBS and Anne SNELSON , was born bef. 24 October 1756. He married Susannah PITT 10 September 1787 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He died 14 February 1836. Susannah PITT was born abt. 1757. She died bef. 07 February 1823.

Married at Oxford St. Michael.

I wasn't too convinced of this marriage until I came across a reference from Barbara Stacey in a very old letter she wrote to my father. She had recently visited the Deddington Churchyard and in the letter she wrote "....and we discovered two Knibbs gravestones right next to the church. I've never noticed them before. One was Jeremiah Knibbs and his wife Susannah, and the other was Robert (No wife) next to eachother. They died in 1854 and 1856".

This Jeremiah is the only Jeremiah I am aware of in Deddington. The dates given by Barbara were incorrect but I suspect she was working from memory when she wrote the letter.
