__________
The Star Inn is still operating and lies approximately at the half way point on the Trent and Mersey canal. The first mention of The Star selling ale is in 1568. The original cottage and outbuildings were used by the slaughter men to the local Priory, but when Henry VIII closed the Churches and Monasteries, the landowner went out of business, so he turned to brewing. About 1824 a full licence was granted to the then landlord so that he could "provide the boatmen with spirits for medicinal purposes" as The Star was the only canal side pub on the Trent and Mersey at that time.
The current owners, Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries, extended The Star to its current size, but have left the original grade II listed bar as it was.

We also know that Emma and her husband Richard George had a daughter Emma George in December 1875. The daughter Emma is seen living with Emma's parents back in Fringford, Oxfordshire at the 1881 census. Emma died at childbirth in December 1875 in the District of Stoke Upon Trent, Staffordshire. This district covers the small village of Longton where we know that Emma's daughter was born.
Emma's husband Richard George gave his occupation as "Publican" in 1875 when his daughter was baptised. We can see him living at the Star Inn, Stone, Staffordshire in 1881 with his second wife Dinah. Stone is a small town just about 5-10 miles from Longton, Staffordshire, where Richard and Emma daughter was born in 1875.

Notes for Emma GEORGE:
Emma was born in Longton, in the district of Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire, England, but was baptised in Fringford, Oxfordshire where her grandfather, Isaac Judd, was born.
We don't know the exact circumstances, but we know that Emma's mother (the daughter of Mary Ann Knibbs and Isaac Judd) died at about the same time that Emma was born, quite probably from childbirth. So it maybe that Emma was immediately taken on by her grandparents.
We know she was baptised at Fringford where they lived, and we know that in 1881, she was living with them at Fringford.
Emma can be seen in 1881 living with her grandparents at Fringford.
