Click to enlarge. The best man, standing behind Ernest, is his older brother Walter.

To the left of the photograph, the older seated lady is Elizabeth (Markham) KNIBBS, his mother. I assume that the two girls between Ernest and Elizabeth are his two sisters Amy and Sarah, with Sarah's two children Irene and Amy STACEY sat in the left foreground.
In the back row, 4th from the left is Sarah Ethel Knibbs' husband Louis Stacey, and on his left is Edgar Gardner, the friend of Amy Elizabeth Knibbs.

Notes for Ernest Thomas KNIBBS:

Ernest is seen to be 12 years old, living in the civil parish of Deddington at the 1901 census.
___________

In 1911, Ernest was living with his mother and brother Walter at Clifton, Oxfordshire:
Elizabeth Knibbs Head Widow 59 Oxfordshire Clifton
Walter Knibbs Son Single 31 Hay Tier Oxfordshire Clifton
Ernest Knibbs Son Single 23 Railway Porter Oxfordshire Clifton
Archie Comon Boarder Single 20 Flour Miller Worker Oxfordshire Charlbury
__________

Ernest is known to have worked for the Great Western Railway, and I believe it was at Banbury station. The above photograph was one of my father's and I can only imagine somewhere amongst the crowd of staff is Ernest.

I know from his niece Barbara that Ernest died of pneumonia. My cousin Jackie remembers her mother telling her of one of the brothers who worked for the railways and died quite young. Apparently he got soaked through to the skin in a storm, got pneumonia and died from it. That must have been Ernest.
