From the Avalanche Newspaper, Grayling, Crawford Co., MI - 16 Apr 1896 Henry KNIBBS, of Maple Forest, was adjudged insane, before Judge JOHNSON, Monday, and sent to the Asylum at Traverse City.

From the Avalanche Newspaper, Grayling, Crawford Co., MI - 13 May 1897
Sheriff CHALKER informed us on his return from Traverse City, that H. KNIBBS, of Maple Forest, who has been a patient at the Asylum for some time, has entirely recovered and will be sent home as soon as arrangements are made by the officers. The other patients from this county are not improving mentally.

On the 1900 Census, Katherine is reported as having 10 births with 6 still alive on the census date of 02 June 1900.
